In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the Brains posting a big win against Libratus, a set of poker pro patches for sale and the return of the $300k buy-in Super High Roller Bowl.
1) Brains Battle Back
It turns out there is still hope for the humans holding a John Connor-esque resistance to poker super A.I. Libratus.
Daniel McAulay, Dong Kim, Jason Les, and Jimmy Chou staged a massive comeback yesterday with just about every player on the team recording a winning session.
Kim and Les were particularly effective against the AI, which made some viewers speculate they’ve figured out a pattern in Libratus’ play.
By the time the smoke had cleared Team Brains had nearly pulled even and are now trailing Libratus by just $50,513.
It’s an impressive feat considering they were down over $150k prior to yesterday.
Of course there’s still a long, long ways to go in Brains vs. A.I. 2 with only 27,940 hands played of the overall 120,000.
2) PokerStars Pro DIY on eBay
Always wanted to be a member of the vaunted Team PokerStars Pro but never had the skills?
No problem!
For the price of $11.69 you can buy a complete set of PokerStars Team Pro patches on eBay thanks to seller ronniescollegefund.
Unfortunately you’re limited to the USA patch but if it works for Jason Mercier and Chris Moneymaker then it’s more than good enough for you!
Maybe you’ll finally get some respect at your local home game (or at least a few laughs).
ronniescollegefund actually has a plethora of PokerStars swag for sale including a NAPT player bag, regular patches, hockey jerseys and of course a garden gnome (not PokerStars related).
3) Super High Roller Bowl Returns in 2017
The big, bad $300k buy-in Super High Roller Bowl is returning in 2017.
The tournament will take place May 28-31, 2017, at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Organizers are estimating a $15m prize pool (zero rake!) with a cap of 50 players. Aria reserves 15 seats for non-professional high rollers and one celebrity guest.
Poker pros Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Brian Rast and Tom Marchese are all expected to play.
One really great change coming this year?
The entire thing will be streamed live on the Internet thanks to Poker Central ditching the traditional cable model.
Poker pros will likely want to move fast as the Super High Roller Bowl tends to sell out fast.
